Will Smith Was Just Admitted To A Luxury Rehab Clinic Following The Oscars Incident

After the infamous slap on the Oscars stage on March 27th that left everyone speechless, Will Smith has decided to be admitted into a luxury rehab clinic to help him deal and cope with stress. The incident was brought about after Chris Rock, who at that moment was presenting “Best Documentary”, made a joke at Jada Pinkett Smith’s expense about her alopecia, an ongoing condition that she has been struggling with. This moment had such repercussions that, as reported by the British newspaper ‘The Sun’, the artist will spend some time in a rehabilitation clinic. “The impact of the backlash has hit Will hard, so he will be getting help on dealing with stress,” explained the newspaper. “This is unquestionably the battle of his career. It will be a high-end retreat used by the rich and famous and he will be doing a lot of soul searching and working out how he can move forward,” continued telling The Sun.

Smith officially resigned from the Academy of Motion Pictures after the assault but hopes that he can return in time to save his ongoing career and reputation. Smith also issued many apologies, to the Academy, to Chris Rock, and to everyone that watched it live/or would later see it on the internet. Right after the slap, Smith actually won Best Actor for his role in “King Richard”, but today, April 8th, there is a meeting to determine whether he should be able to keep the prestigious award after the debacle. In fact, the last time that the Academy decided to take back an award was over 50 years ago, as the documentary ‘Young Americans’ won an award in 1969 but it had actually been released in 1967.

Repercussions of what happened are spanning from Netflix and Sony suspending production of two films that the former ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ star was shooting: “Fast and Loose” and “Bad Boys”, and his brand being labeled as “damaged goods worldwide”. The most recent news regarding Smith is that the Academy won’t permit him to attend the Oscars for ten years, no longer able to participate in any events regarding the Academy.
