Viral TikTok Series Of Creative Post-It-Note Breakup Starts Conversation

A woman who posts under @iknow_girl on TikTok is receiving viral attention for the internet’s most creative breakup. She caught her boyfriend cheating on her just before their European vacation, so she photographed him alongside numerous monuments, paired with post-it notes. She told her now ex boyfriend that the notes were a homage to the love notes he would leave for her, when in reality, they were details of how she caught him cheating on her.

At the end of the couple’s vacation, she compiled them all into a series of videos and sent them to him. The creative idea is dividing the comment section, with some questioning how she could still go on the lengthy nine week excursion with him while others were proud of her for taking charge of the situation. One user commented “I would make him pay for everything too!”

After she returned home to the U.S., she edited the infamous video together and sent it to her now ex-boyfriend, detailing her reasoning for breaking up with. She detailed that after dating him for over a year and spending nine weeks in Europe with him, all he had to say for himself was contained in a 30-second Snapchat voice message.

She initially discovered the infidelity when her now ex went on a six week trip to Colombia with his best friend, after he had just moved in with her. After several getaways with this friend, she noticed several patterns, and ultimately discovered the cheating.

Since sharing the details of her creative break up strategy, @iknow_girl now posts videos sharing her advice for healing from toxic relationships and break ups.

Among her pieces of advice are ways to spot warning signs of “love bombing”, cheating, or other unhealthy behaviors in a relationship. She reiterated that her boyfriend “did everything right” during their relationship, from leaving love notes to remembering to leave a glass of water for her on her nightstand.

It quickly expanded the public’s knowledge of manipulation in interpersonal relationships as well.

Numerous other TikTok creators have turned to publicly discussing their relationship troubles, as a way to seek community and provide a safety net for single women in their area. @iknow_girl additionally called attention to numerous Facebook groups started by women to catch cheaters in their areas.

While the creator continues to post content regarding what she learned from the situation, her ex-boyfriend’s identity remains obscured. She continues to receive widespread support in her comment section from women all over the world.
