Twitter Shows Their Excitement As They Wait For Their ‘Stimmy’

On Thursday, President Joe Biden has signed the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package bill into law. Which means that the stimulus checks are coming.

Social media has now officially deemed the stimulus checks…Biden Bucks. The news about Biden Bucks had people excited to talk about it on social media. Lots of people were tweeting out about their “Stimmy” with jokes and just really relatable tweets.

Biden Bucks Are Coming

The House of Representatives passed the COVID-19 relief package which extends unemployment benefits and $1,400 stimulus checks to Americans.

Here are the details of the people who will likely be getting the stimulus check:

Individuals making $80,000 or under and married couples making $160,000 or less will receive up to $1,400 per person.

  • Individuals who make $75,000 or less will get the full $1,400.

  • Checks will go down in value for those who make between $75,000 to $80,000 (or couples who make between $150,000 and $160,000).

Adam Ruben, campaign director of the Economic Security Project, stated, “The American Rescue Plan represents one of the largest expansions of direct cash policies in our country’s history.” This is something he believes is worth celebrating.

“The direct cash payments to individuals and families from stimulus checks and the Child Tax Credit will quickly send desperately-needed money to most Americans.” Ruben continued talking about the impact this will have on the American people, “They will put food on the table, buy needed medicines and school supplies, and lift millions of people out of poverty. Biden Bucks are coming. And for many, it will be a real gamechanger.”

Twitter Excitement

People’s excitement on social media about their stimulus checks has created all sorts of trending hashtags. ‘Biden Bucks’ and ‘Kamala Kash’ have been social’s media new names for their checks as well as their ‘Stimmy’.

While others have reflected on their feelings about the new administration. Many have felt better about having President Joe Biden in office. People are calling this feeling the ‘Biden Calm’ that came after the ‘Trump Storm’.

Stimmy

What is it? ‘Stimmy’ is the new slang term for stimulus which refers to the stimulus payments made to Americans by the government.

Yes, it’s safe to say that social media is READY for their stimulus checks. This one Youtube creator even went so far as to make a video called “Stimmy Wish List”. Twitter has also been ready with their stimulus expections. People tweeted out memes waiting and wishing for their stimulus checks to come as soon as possible.

Biden Calm

Representative Jason Crow tweeted out perfectly describing how people have felt about the Biden Calm. “Tonight, America saw leadership coming from the White House. Calm, steady, and clear. President Biden showed us the way out of this crisis, and he will help lead us there. Onward, together!”

This was something that many people have agreed with as they too explain the feeling of their ‘Biden Calm’.

One user compared his ‘Biden Calm’ to the way he felt when Former President Barack Obama was in office.

The #BidenCalm is the return of "No Drama Obama", and long overdue! I am #BidenCalm today… https://t.co/pWHa7vVMFZ

Wendy added something that a lot of users agreed with. President Joe Biden has given people hope and as one user explained, “relief in knowing that tomorrow will be better than today.”

This user responded to another tweet responding to the comparison of Former President Donald Trump. Referring to her preference of Biden Calm as opposed to Trump Chaos.

Aw, someone’s jealous that people prefer #BidenCalm to #TrumpChaos, sad! https://t.co/HruJ7Egige

Where’s The ‘Stimmy’?

According to a CBS News poll, the bill is very popular amongst Americans. Three in four Americans approve of the bill. Two-thirds of Americans have also said they approve of the way President Biden is handling the pandemic.

The third round of stimulus checks of $1,400 checks would provide relief for almost 23 million adults to allow them to pay their bills for more than four months without getting into more debt or even going into their savings.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki stated that people could start to receive their COVID-19 stimulus checks as soon as this weekend.
