TikToker Reports Her Cat Was Trapped Behind Tiles After Renovating Her Home

A TikTok user, Giavanna, @Giavannaaaa__ on TikTok, recently went viral after revealing that her cat was trapped inside the tile of her bathroom wall after renovations. She reports that she heard the cat meowing and realized the cat was stuck. In the video, a man cuts open a portion of the wall, where the black cat then emerges.

Of course, the comments were absolutely bewildered. Many were shocked that the cat got in there and was then trapped. One person asks how he got stuck, where Giavanna explains that their house had been remodeled since July and since there was nothing closing off the wall, the cat had made a hiding place. Both her and her dad had forgotten that the cat likes to hide there when the closing of the tile was completed.

Since the cat in the video was fine, many people felt compelled to laugh at the situation. One person commented that they were glad that the father, who was the person who cut the small hole to free the stuck kitty, was rational enough to not tear out the entirety of the wall and tiles. Other people laughed at how the cat did not immediately run out after being freed but instead seemed shy to his rescue.

According to Insider, this behavior from cats is not unusual. An animal behaviorist commented that cats enjoy being in tiny or compact spaces, even though to the human eye it might look uncomfortable or even unnatural. An animal behaviorist even commented that tigers will do the same thing, and it is most likely linked to a feeling of feeling safe and secure. In fact, Giavanna was not the only person on TikTok to have this happen to her before. Other people have also filmed and reported this unfortunate event happening to them as well

These users, however, usually had to cause more damage in order to release their cats. Many people had the same question: how do these cats continue to get stuck in walls?

Some have reported that cats go through an attic and then get lost, usually ending up in a very confused cat becoming lost in a wall, meowing for help. All in all, it is recommended to keep an eye on your cats, especially if you plan on renovating and to make sure your cat does not have access to the attic.
