Taylor Swift is Not Performing the Super Bowl LVII Show Despite Variety Report and Internet Rumors
Despite the report from Variety that Taylor Swift was set to headline the Super Bowl LBII halftime show, let’s just say that’s not happening.
This past Thursday, news broke that the biggest sponsor of the halftime show, Pepsi, will be replaced by none other than Apple Music – a big changeup here. Apple recently signed this contract that will replace the near ten season run that Pepsi had for the show.
“Music and sports hold a special place in our hearts, so we’re very excited Apple Music will be part of music and football’s biggest stage,” Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats, said in a statement.
Nana-Yaw Asamoah, the NFL’s senior vice president of partner strategy said in a statement, “We are proud to welcome Apple Music to the NFL family as our new partner for the iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show.” Terms have yet to be announced but many expected this to cost around $50 million dollars per year for the rights.

“We couldn’t think of a more appropriate partner for the world’s most-watched musical performance than Apple Music, a service that entertains, inspires, and motivates millions of people around the world through the intersection of music and technology,” Asamoah added.
Pepsi took over the show in 2013 from Bridgestone which had the show run from 2008 through 2012.
After the news was announced, many Swifties took to the internet wondering if Taylor Swift herself would be the show’s premiere act seeing that most of her partnerships have been with Apple Music. According to reports from People and other tabloids, the star is not going to be taking this on.
