Stranger Things’ David K. Harbour Officiates Twitter Fan’s Wedding!

Stranger Things is one of the most popular television series ever to hit Netflix and though the show has many fans, the actors themselves do pretty well for themselves too. Thus, you can imagine how hard it must be for fans of these supernatural actors when there is no way of meeting their favorite star from the upside down. However, some people have a few tricks up their sleeves, and most notably, the Twitter community on their side, and have thought up clever plans on how to make their dreams come true.

For a couple in Springfield, Illinois, they did just this. Ericka and her fiancé had been planning their wedding for a few months when they realized they didn’t have anyone to officiate their big day. Now, because the two are die-hard Stranger Things fans, and even more so, devoted fans of David K. Harbour, aka Jim Hopper, Ericka thought she’d try her luck and took to Twitter to ask David what it would take for him to officiate their wedding later on in the year.

What would it take to get @DavidKHarbour to be the Officiant at my wedding in September?!

David Harbour being the kind man that he is, responded to Ericka’s tweet and said that providing she gets 125,000 retweets and that it works in line with his schedule for the filming of season 3 of Stranger Things, then he would most certainly do it.

125k retweets. Provided date works with s3 shooting schedule, I will get ordained and perform ceremony. I get to read an esteemed love letter of my choosing, and after the cake is officially cut, I get the very first piece. #allthecakes https://t.co/rSku8qD7uT

Honestly, we have to admit, the Twitter community sure know how to stick together, and after eight months, Ericka’s wish came true.

Hey internet. I know it’s been awhile. I retreated. Needed some space. You probably get it. But I’ve been thinking about ya in the interim. And all your retweets. And so me and some fun folks in Springfield, Illinois made good on our promise we made all those months ago. pic.twitter.com/fZK8zNMQSi

We’re sure the deal of getting the first slice of cake would’ve been enough to get David to show up, but because Ericka pulled out all the stops and provided everything that David asked for, he showed up, ready to officiate the wedding, in full Jim Hopper attire.

The wedding pictures are definitely something else, and the happy couple plus their family and friends look so happy with how the day turned out.

Even though your wedding is a day you’ll always remember, we’re sure Ericka and her husband will remember their special day for a very different reason. Congratulations!
