Sharks Bite Two Children in First Long Island Attack in 70 Years

Shark attacks are relatively rare, but when they happen, boy is it horrifying. Long Island had its first shark attack in over 70 years. A 12-year-old girl and 13-year old boy were bitten. The attacks happened on the same day, but miles apart. Two shark attacks for the first time in 70 years, but miles apart! Woof! And a whole shark tooth was found lodged in the boy’s leg. I don’t like these sharks. Am I ready to start hunting them not unlike the colorful protagonist of Jaws? Well. Not yet, folks. Not yet…

Both children are expected to make a full recovery. The Long Island beaches have reopened, but swimming is not advised. Not unless you bring… a canister of oxygen! That’s how the Jaws shark died, right? If not, then I am so sorry for screwing up the Jaws reference. I am SO sorry.
