Russell Brand’s Friends and Wife Laura Gallacher Refute Allegations Against Comedian: ‘He Isn’t a Monster’
Russell Brand’s friends and wife Laura Gallacher are looking to defend the star after the wake of ‘shocking’ allegations came about.
Russell Brand’s close friends are rallying behind to defend the comedian in the wake of the rape and sexual misconduct allegations being made against him. The friends claim that the comedian is ‘crude, arrogant, and offensive’ but is ‘not a monster.’
In addition, YouTube is blocking Brand from making money through its platform.
Four women came forward with claims that they had suffered rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse at the hands of Russel between the years of 2006 and 2013. As previously reported from What’s Trending, the investigation was held between the Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches.
Now, friends who are close to the comedian, who has denied all of the allegations, have come forward to voice their shock over the claims. Dailymail reported that this has also left a toll on his wife Laura Gallacher.
One source stated, ‘Everyone is shocked right now. Russell has been a driving force in so many people’s recovery over the years and he has helped thousands of people get clean by sharing his powerful story.’
YouTube has suspended the comedian from making any money off of the site as of this time and the rest of the dates for the Bipolarisation tour in the UK have also been postponed. A separate source, who met Brand during his rise to fame, claimed the star has never ‘crossed the line.’
The anonymous source stated to DailyMail, ‘I have seen Russell in intimate settings, as well as huge red carpet celebrity events. He is always himself and, while he is very flirty because this is his nature, I have not witnessed him crossing the line.’
The insider went on to admit that the star can be ‘crude’ but he has built his persona on being a ‘sexual playboy.’ He has ‘slept with countless woman’ but ‘he never came across as a monster.’
Other sources have gone on to state that wife Laura has been a complete wreck throughout the allegations. One noted that the news is ‘even more crushing’ because of the ‘emotional toll pregnancy takes on a woman.’
As far as the claims, the BBC has opened an investigation into the claims made by the group of women. One woman as young as sixteen years old, claims that Brand went as far as dropping her off after their ordeal and she felt like ‘a young girl being dropped off at school.’
Brand’s management has dropped him as of this time. There have been an onslaught of other complaints of Brand over the years that the group claims it was ‘misled’ by the comedian.
