Omicron Variant Trends Online Alongside Joe Biden’s Plan

In the last few weeks, Covid-19 rates have been incredibly high, even with increased vaccination rates and the new booster shots. From this, Biden gave a speech earlier today addressing this and what can be done by him and other Americans to lower the Covid rates once again. However, not everyone is convinced this plan is the one we need or will work

Biden’s plan

According to the White House website, Biden has a plan called “The Covid-19 Winter Action Plan.” Since the virus seems to get worse in the approaching colder months, and cases are already increasing from Omicron, the plan entails getting us through the winter. He seems to have a few plans mapped out, including ensuring fully vaccinated individuals receive their boosters, children receive their vaccinations in order to keep the schools both safe and open, and making sure that workplaces are safe as well.

1. We know that vaccines are working. If you are boosted with Pfizer or Moderna, you have a high degree of protection against severe illness with Omicron. If you’re an adult choosing to be unvaccinated, you will face an extremely difficult winter for your family and community.

Though this seems to be helpful, some were concerned with the startling message Biden gave, noting that “For the unvaccinated, we are looking at winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated — for themselves, their families and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. But there’s good news: If you’re vaccinated and you have your booster shot, you’re protected from severe illness and death.” Though being fully vaccinated lessens the chance of being infected with Covid-19, some worried if this message was not the right one to steer unvaccinated individuals in the right direction.

Literally the only thing he’s doing that’s an improvement over Trump is telling people to get vaccinated and wear masks. I didn’t expect much from the Dems, but I expected a little more than cutting off all our protections and forcing us to “get back to normal.”

Some, however, thought it was an appropriate response to such a bleak situation that we currently reside in. Though the message is harsh and hard to listen to, some thought it might be the message people need to hear in order to be vaccinated.

It's not fear mongering, it is the truth.

Some will just get a mild case.

Some will have long covid and suffer health issues.

Some will die.

It is certain that the strain on our health care system will be unbearable for doctors and nurses.

According to Dr. Fauci, the omicron variant continues to “rage” around the world, but hopefully, vaccination rates will continue to increase and people will start being more vigilant again, as many do when infection rates increase.
