Keeping Up With the Kardashians Coming To An End

After 19 seasons, the Kardashian-Jenner family announced yesterday that the beloved ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ is coming to an end after their 20th season is released early 2021. It has been 13 years of meme-worthy moments and dramatic blow-ups that have captured the attention of over 1 million viewers since its debut in 2007. Kim Kardashian-West broke the news yesterday afternoon with an instagram post stating, “It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” along with thanking everyone who has made their success possible.

Khloe Kardashian also took the time to fill her fans in on the sad news stating,

“I am so grateful and thankful to everyone who has supported us and been there through it all. I’m too emotional to fully express myself at the moment. My sappy post will come soon. Change is hard but also needed at times I love you all. Thank you for the memories!”

Fans Mourn the End of Era

Kim Kardashian-West was once an assistant to Paris Hilton before landing her own spin-off show, KUWTK which put her family in the spotlight and boosted each of her family members’ career. Over the past 13 years, Kim K has created a billion dollar makeup brand, Kylie Jenner became the world’s youngest billionaire through her business endeavors, and Kendall Jenner is one of the highest paid models. We watched five sisters grow up in a wealthy Calabasas neighborhood and become one of the world’s most successful families in a little over a decade. Viewers have been there for Kim’s 72 day marriage, when Kris videotaped her daughter’s Playboy shoot, and when the sisters have gotten into physical confrontations. For this reason, it has been difficult for KUWTK fans to handle the news of its last season.

Iconic Moments

Some fans have taken this time to look back on the hilarious moments that the Kardashian-Jenner family has graced us with over the past decade. From Kim’s iconic diamond earring getting lost in the ocean, to Kendall’s “you’re cute jeans,” ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians,’ has given its audience many infamous quotes and scenes that have circulated around the internet millions of times. Here are some fan favorites to look back on while grieving:

No Hard Feelings

This isn’t to say the Kardashians are for everyone. In fact, they have definitely received hate throughout their years on screen and many are glad to see them go. Between backlash for Kim and Khloe’s cultural appropriation and Kylie’s “self-made” billionaire status, it hasn’t always been Health Nut salad bowls and Yeezy fashion shows for this Calabasas family. While some people are taking this news to heart, others seem to be thankful the family is no longer being given air-time.

so am i the only one happy about how kuwtk is ending?….

Some are speculating that they were dropped by E!, but many believe that Kourtney is behind the last season, as she has wanted to leave the show many times.

What Next?

No one besides the Kardashian-Jenner family, knows where we will see them next. Knowing their past, and Kris’ knack for success, they are bound to stay relevant on our feeds and on our television screens in some way or another.

Whether you love or hate this iconic family, you are sure to enjoy these memes following the goodbye. Twitter has been full of memes about Kris’ next plot for stardom.

Whether you are the biggest KUWTK fan or their biggest critic, you cannot deny their impression on a generation of young Americans.

Before you pull out the tissues, remember that we still have one more season to look forward next year before we say our final goodbyes with the Kardashian family.
