More Women Come Forward With Allegations Of Abuse Against Actor Jonathan Majors

Actor Jonathan Majors was arrested in March on felony domestic assault charges. The charges stem from an altercation that took place in Manhattan, New York between Majors and his then girlfriend. At the time, the woman, who remains unnamed, was brought to a nearby hospital with minor injuries to her head and neck following the alleged altercation. Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, said that he was “completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows.”

Chaudry then provided text messages that were presumed to “prove his innocence” to TMZ.  The woman from the altercation remains anonymous months later. Majors recently appeared in court alongside current girlfriend actress Meagan Good, where a Manhattan judge set a trial date for August 3.

Now, several women, some who must remain anonymous due to NDAs they signed during their relationships with the actor, came forward with more allegations to Rolling Stone. The magazine’s investigation also found that Majors had a history of violent behavior dating back to his graduate school career at Yale University. The disturbing revelations are sending shockwaves across social media, where fans once praised the actor’s performances.

Social Media Response

One of the most shocking bombshells of Rolling Stone’s report is that Majors’ attorney sent six character witnesses to disprove the allegations. Out of the six, three told the magazine anonymously that they never approved the statements and that they were pre-written without their consent. Only one of the character witnesses offered to be identified. Haley Carter, who dated the actor when they were 13 years old to when they were both 18 years old, referred to the actor as “sweet, kind & gentle.”

Jonathan Majors’ legal team sent 6 character witness statements to Rolling Stone from women he knew.

3 said they never gave his team permission to release such statements, another said it wasn’t truthful, and another said he is “sweet, kind & gentle”https://t.co/4aeDKpvHI3 pic.twitter.com/99O3XzSnlb

Given that several of the character witnesses told reporters that the attorney falsified their statements, some choose not to believe Carter’s words either.

Additionally, the comprehensive three month investigation presents a variety of perspectives on Majors, from personal and professional perspectives. Some feel that the information presented is too much for the average reader to sort through, and that only the court can decide what actually happened.

Honestly all the details are conflicting. Social media is not the place to determine guilt. The Rolling Stones article presents a lot of interesting information but it’s hearsay at the end of the day. Let these people come forward in court

Another Twitter user pointed out that the only account of positive behavior for the actor came from a childhood love, and not someone who was familiar with his experiences in adulthood.

i think if the only ex willing to vouch for you is a woman you dated when you were an actual child, you should not release their statement, i am sure you were very sweet at 14, sir but we are talking about this decade pic.twitter.com/fHhBoBTuVv

Majors’ legal team continues to vehemently deny any and all allegations of misconduct in his personal and professional life.
