Miley Cyrus Files Restraining Order Against Alleged Stalker
Singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus has allegedly filed a restraining order against a man named Alexander Kardalian, according to documents first obtained by TMZ.
The 52-year-old alleged stalker was released from prison in 2022, and has reportedly come to Cyrus’ residence on multiple occasions. In 2018, Kardalian allegedly began sending Cyrus letters, requesting money, and making sexually explicit requests. The documents also claim that Cyrus received a letter from the alleged stalker while he was in prison, detailing his intentions upon his release.
Kardalian also allegedly began using the singer’s personal address for his health insurance. A recent letter claimed that if the singer did not write back to him, he “doesn’t give a f*** if he lives.” Given the alleged stalker’s aggressive behavior, Cyrus feared for her safety and the safety of her friends and family that frequently visit her home. The singer was reportedly granted a temporary restraining order.

Others continue to defend Cyrus’ artistic choices to represent her sexuality in previous music projects. Many remind onlookers that her work was never an invitation for stalkers.
Well, it seems like this gentleman missed the memo that 'Wrecking Ball' was just a song, not an invitation to swing by unannounced!

Historically, several celebrities have been killed by their stalkers. These include Selena Quintanilla-Peréz, Christina Grimmie, John Lennon, and more. The repeat issues of stalkers following celebrities, especially in an era of increased digital surveillance through social media, has many calling for an update to anti-stalking laws nationwide.
The singer most recently released a single titled “Used To Be Young,” reflecting on her many career decisions and personal growth journey. The track was accompanied by an exclusive interview series that aired on her TikTok account. Cyrus rose to fame first for her role as the titular Hannah Montana on Disney Channel, paving the way for a further acting and music career post-Disney.
Cyrus and her family members are yet to directly speak on the alleged stalker at this time. According to the temporary order, the alleged stalker is not permitted within 100 feet of Cyrus or her home.
