Matt Gaetz Trends on Twitter After People Make Fun of His Tweet Calling Women “Overeducated”

Florida Representative Matt Gaetz is being roasted on Twitter for asking how many “over-educated, underloved” women protested for abortion rights after the draft that would overturn Roe V. Wade was leaked. Since the leak, protestors on both sides of the controversial issue of abortion headed to the White House to protest. And, many politicians have voiced their opinions, so it is not surprising that Gaetz shared his opinion online. But, many referenced the allegations Gaetz faces, which include a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and engaging in sex trafficking.

How many of the women rallying against overturning Roe are over-educated, under-loved millennials who sadly return from protests to a lonely microwave dinner with their cats, and no bumble matches?

Although Gaetz has emphatically denied the allegations, many referenced the fact that he is accused of sex trafficking and having inappropriate relationships with minors by tweeting him links to the articles about his accusations. According to the Washington Post, there is a “potential witness to Gaetz being told that he had had sex with a 17-year-old, raising questions about whether Gaetz publicly lied when he said he hadn’t had sex with a minor as an adult” and a “money trail suggests that Gaetz paid for sex with women.”

Calling women “over-educated” for caring about their basic freedoms is a pretty concise way to expose how anti-women, anti-education, and anti-freedom the Republican Party really is.

Many tried to ask Gaetz his definition of “over-educated” and why this would be considered a negative thing. “What EXACTLY does an over-educated Woman look like? Does she have the ability to detect a lecherous, pathetic, child sex trafficking creep easily?” wrote one person on Twitter. “‘You are overeducated’ is not the flex you think it is, Matt Gaetz” wrote another online.

Good morning to all you over-educated women out there, or as Matt Gaetz would put it: any woman who's graduated high school.

Although Gaetz’s investigation is still ongoing, many online thought that it was not the most appropriate of Gaetz to demean the relationship history of women. But, it seems that the tweets against him did not keep him down, as he later tweeted “How many of the women protesting the overturning of Roe are on meal delivery subscriptions….for one?” which received as much backlash as the first tweet.
