Lil Tay Speaks Out Claiming She’s Not Dead And Very Much Alive
An Instagram post published to Lil Tay’s account reporting that she tragically passed away. Now, Lil Tay says she is alive and was hacked.
An unsigned statement was posted on Wednesday to the account for Lil Tay, stating that the star’s passing was “sudden and tragic.” The note also stated her older brother Jason Tian had also died and that both were under investigation. But now Lil Tay says she is very much alive and that she was hacked. It’s Andy Lalwani reporting.
A statement read on Wednesday,“It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing,” the Instagram message read. “This outcome was entirely unexpected and has left us all in shock. Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief.
The statement also went on to continue saying the death was unexpected. But the cause is still being ruled as an investigation.
The statement further read, “we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation.”
However, the young girl’s father refused to confirm or deny the death. Speaking to Insider, the father, Christopher Hope, refused to comment on the Instagram post and declined to answer whether or not his daughter was alive.
Former manager Harry Tsang, also declined to comment or deny the death. In a conversation with Insider, the manager gave an ominous comment.
He stated, “Given the complexities of the current circumstances, I am at a point where I cannot definitively confirm or dismiss the legitimacy of the statement issued by the family,” Tsang told Insider in an email on Wednesday. “This situation calls for cautious consideration and respect for the sensitivities involved. My commitment remains focused on delivering updates that are both reliable and appropriately timed.”
The police departments in Vancouver, Canada where the young star was also raised did not have any information on the death of anyone named Claire Hope. The police department did however confirm they were not investigating a case.
But now, Lil Tay says she is very much alive claiming her Instagram account was compromised. In a statement provided to TMZ from Tay’s family she broke the news.
She stated, “I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say. It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess.”
She also went on to state, “My Instagram account was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not “Claire Hope”.”
Thanks to Meta, Tay was able to get her account back and the phony death statement was removed.
