Kim Kardashian Says She Will No Longer Be the ‘Cleanup Crew’ For Kanye West and His Outbursts

Kim Kardashian claims she no longer has the energy to be the ‘cleanup crew’ for Kanye West and it’s speaking volumes. The star got candid on a new episode of The Kardashians and its getting a lot of attention. 

For the last part of the decade, Grammy-winning rapper and designer Kanye West has become a defined superstar persona known for his problematic antics. And SKIMS founder Kim Kardashian is saying she no longer has the energy to defend her former husband for the things he does. 

In the latest episode of the hit Hulu series The Kardashians, fans see the superstar, who divorced Kanye West back in 2021 after seven years of marriage, vent to her mother Kris Jenner about her stress and frustration claiming she is the ‘cleanup crew.’ The model and reality star claimed she felt so much hurt around her ex-husband’s conspiratorial claims about her family and even some of the remarks he’s made in to the press.

The May 25th episode picks up where the premiere left off with Kim Kardashian claiming “Even how he looks so down on me for my sex tape, brings it up all over town, all over the media. Like, thanks for reminding people once again.”

But the star didn’t stop there. The mom of four children she shares with the rapper went on to say how some of his public stunts have caused her too much stress.

Kim went on to say  “All of his shenanigans is gonna be far more damaging to the kids one day than my tape will ever be, and I have to sit here and not say anything, ever, because I know one day my kids will appreciate that. And I know that is the best thing for them.”

Kanye and Kim share their four children including North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm with their youngest being four years old. The SKIMS mogul is set to star in the latest installment of American Horror Story, but admits that protecting her children is her biggest concern these days.

Kardashian later mentions in the episode, “I still feel the need to not talk about it and protect it from my kids and I always will feel that way, but God, if people knew … I just would never do that to my kids. It just is really crazy.”

In the past, West has praised Hitler and even revealed intimate details about his marriage to crowds at political rallies. The rapper has kept his family in the headlines while also muddying his reputation and credibility, as some would say.

Kim also expressed in the episode, “Sometimes I feel like if he were to hit rock bottom, that’s his journey that he needs to figure out on his own. I used to run around and call everyone behind his back, and be like, ‘It’s gonna be OK, it’s gonna be OK, don’t worry. Just give him another chance.”

But in the end, it seems like Kim will not be giving Kanye another chance these days as she’s had enough. Between the constant questions about her ex-husband when he’s in the news cycle to even protecting their children from his stunts, she claims she is done. 

Kim mentions boldly in the Hulu series, “ “I used to spend hours and hours and hours of my day to be the cleanup crew. I just don’t have that energy.”

When asked if her children were aware of all of the drama around their father, Kim mentions how she limits the kids from seeing a lot of the news and gossip online as its talked about enough within the family. 

Kim closes out her thoughts on the drama stating, “I’m the one being accused of so many things and being blamed for so many things and it’s really hurtful and it sucks. But, I can control how I react and I can control if I’m a mess, [and] then my kids will see that … I really do believe in my soul that one day, my kids will appreciate my silence, my understanding and my grace, and I will try my hardest to keep it together at all times.”
