Kim Asks For ‘compassion and empathy’ For Kanye
Following a twitter storm that left many fans concerned about Kanye’s mental health, his wife Kim Kardashian is speaking out.
The star posted a message on her instagram stories releasing a statement regarding her husband’s recent tweets and behavior. In his tweets, Kanye claimed that he had been trying to divorce Kim ever since she went to a hotel room with rapper Meek Mill. Kanye also accuses his wife of trying to “lock [him] up.”
In her statement however, Kim did not address this or the rumors that have been circulating that she has met with divorce lawyers to discuss the future of her relationship with Kanye.
“As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand,” wrote Kim.
She added, “I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of my children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health.”
“I understand Kanye is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause strong opinions and emotions,” said Kardashian.
“He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the personal loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is highlighted by his bipolar disorder.”
She ended her statement by asking the media and public for compassion and empathy and thanking fans for expressing their concern and understanding.
“Kim has been meeting with lawyers to explore and talk about divorce,” a source told US Weekly.
Yesterday, Kanye posted a string of Tweets, many of which he has now deleted. He referred to his mother-in-law Kris Jenner as Kris Jong Un. Attaching a screenshot of texts he sent her, he captioned the tweet calling her a white supremacist. Following this, Kris Jong Un has been trending on Twitter.
