Kid Rock Drinks Bud Light 4 Months After Dylan Mulvaney Controversy
Kid Rock might have made his peace with Bud Light just a few months after the controversy with Dylan Mulvaney.
The rocker was spotted by TMZ drinking a can of the Anheuser-Busch brand at a Colt Ford concert in Nashville this past Thursday.
“F–k Bud Light, and f–k Anheuser-Busch,” the “Devil Without a Cause” singer said in the April 3 video.
Kid Rock went viral on social media in April when he posted the video calling out the partnership with the Transgender influencer and pride campaign the brand was running.
Calls to boycott Bud Light came in, resulting in the decline of sales for the brand that dominated the market.
Other people like John Rich and Travis Tritt pledged to do away with the beer after the controversy issued as well.
The proportion of Bud Light drinkers who say they are unlikely to buy the brand in the next three to six months fell from 18% to just 3% in July, according to a survey by Deutsche Bank.
As many recall, many right-winged users flooded the internet after Dylan Mulvaney partnered with Bud Light on an Instagram campaign. The social media sensation promoted the company’s “Easy Carry Contest” on social media dressed as Audrey Hepburn and even showcased a new can. Yet, those like Kid Rock emphasized how wrong it was for the company to be supporting someone like Mulvaney.
Many users online were upset with Rock’s response, while others took to social media to flood Mulvaney’s page with hate comments. In light of the situation, many TikTokers trolled the ordeal with how conservatives claim to be overreacting. Caitlyn Jenner even criticized a Nike ad with the TikTok talent as well.
And at the end of pride month, Mulvaney took to social media to exclaim how upset she is with Bud Light for not standing by her through all of the backlash.
On top of that, the TikTok star went on to admit that she still had the special can with her face, but will most likely have to hide it in a museum one day behind bullet proof glass. Mulvaney also emphasized how important it is to stand by trans people no matter what, and even suggested that Bud Light should have not partnered with her at all if they couldn’t stand by the social media sensation in a time of need.
In the end, Mulvaney admitted that she does love beer and she will continue to drink responsibly. Mulvaney even gave users a place to donate their funds this pride month pointing out the Transgender Law Center with a link in her bio.
The CEO of Anheuser Busch InBev recently claimed that the beer should be about bringing the people together after facing the months of backlash following its partnership. In an appearance on the program CBS This Morning, CEO Brendan Whitworth said the company has become entangled in “divisive” conversations it should not be apart of.

He stated, “I think the conversation surrounding Bud Light has moved away from beer, and the conversation has become divisive. And Bud Light really doesn’t belong there. Bud Light should be all about bringing people together.”
