People Are Demanding Justice For A Black Middle School Boy Who Was Forced To Drink Urine By His White Bullies
Justice is being called for a Black middle school student who was reportedly forced to drink urine by his white classmates at a sleepover.
Summer Smith, the mother of 13 year old SeMarion Humphrey, created a Facebook post last week telling in detail all of the abuse that her son has allegedly endured from school bullies. She says that a group of boys at Haggard Middle School in Plano, Texas invited her son to a sleepover a few weeks ago, only to be harassed and attacked. The harassment included racial slurs directed towards Humphrey and being shot multiple times with BB guns. Humphrey was also forced to drink the urine of the boys, while being recorded and later being posted online. Smith explained in a news conference that Humphrey was tricked into taking a sip. “They woke him up out of his sleep and said, “You stopped breathing. You gotta drink this.”

The family’s attorney, Kim Cole, described the student who initially invited Humphrey to the sleepover as a “very popular white player” on the school football team. The family believes that the sleepover was a well thought out plot by the group of boys.

An investigation has been opened by the Plano Police Department along with a video statement by the Superintendent of Plano ISD addressing the issue. “I want to let our community know that Plano ISD does not tolerate bullying or harassment and believe every student must be treated with dignity and respect,” she stated.
This statement comes after Smith claimed that she has reached out to the school district in the past regarding her son being bullied. She says that the district had never taken action to help.
A GoFundMe was created for Humphrey and his family to help fund expenses for therapy and tuition for private schooling. The fundraiser has already hit $64,000 with an intended goal of $75,000. A petition on Change.org is demanding there be action taken by administration of the school regarding the bullies after they said that they cannot do anything about the situation because “the incidents didn’t all take place on campus.” The petition has over 151,000 signatures with a goal of 200,000.
