Joe Rogan Claims He Turned Down Donald Trump to Appear on His Podcast

In a recent episode of Lex Fridman’s podcast,  the controversial podcaster Joe Rogan claims he turned down an opportunity to have former president Donald Trump appear on “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Rogan, known for his interviews with a plethora of guests, is incredibly popular on Spotify and is even the app’s highest-paid podcaster. Although does not claim to be a conservative, his conspiracy theories and anti-vaccine beliefs made him incredibly popular with conservative listeners.

Joe Rogan said he had declined several times to have Donald Trump on his influential Spotify podcast. “I don’t want to help him,” said Rogan, who has amplified Covid-19 misinformation and is popular with many Trump supporters. https://t.co/OLpILX1VBN

But, he tells Fridman he doesn’t “want to help him” when referring to having Trump on his podcast, as he says that he has had multiple opportunities to feature him in an episode. Rogan also called Trump “an existential threat to democracy.” This also comes as the January 6 investigation continues, where last week a White House aide testifies that Trump knew the protestors were armed and possibly dangerous.

Joe Rogan built a career off marijuana culture but the only governors he's ever praising on his show are in favor of criminalizing marijuana and destroying millions of lives over it. He went from Bernie/Yang to Ron DeSantis in 2 years. This is a fundamentally unserious man.

But, this comes as surprise to many people online, since Rogan interviewed a wide range of guests. “Joe Rogan, who I always viewed as a man who would talk to anybody, said he refuses to have Trump on his podcast. Which is weird, because he had Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard on his podcast,” one person wrote online.

Rogan notes he is “not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form,” Rogan says, clarifying how he would never have the former president on his podcast. Rogan’s politics have been confusing for some time now, as he previously endorsed Bernie Sanders, but has also mentioned he thinks Florida governor Ron Desantis could be a good president. So, it is safe to say that Rogan is no stranger to controversy, but his refusal to have Trump as a guest was still surprising to many conservatives. “Joe Rogan cannot redeem himself at this point whether he has Trump on or not,” one person wrote.
