Hozier Teases New Album Release in Viral Instagram and Twitter Posts

Irish Indie-folk artist Hozier first achieved international success with his 2013 hit song “Take Me to Church.” In the decade since then, Hozier has made a name for himself with poetic lyricism and thought-provoking tracks. Even in a digital culture of fast-paced pop and hip-hop tracks frequently dominating platforms like TikTok, Hozier’s music remains a force to be reckoned with.

Specifically, Hozier’s “Someone New” from his 2014 debut album Hozier has soundtracked thousands of creative videos across TikTok. Hozier has specifically been praised for his positive and detailed descriptions of women in his lyrics. Some fans theorized in 2022 that “Work Song” was written in homage to his ex girlfriend, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Loah.

One TikTok creator pointed out how fulfilling it felt to have such a heartfelt song written in homage to a Black woman, as the community is not often celebrated in the alternative and indie genre.

Additionally, Hozier dropped a single titled “Swan Upon Leda” in 2022 amid the overturn of Roe v. Wade in the United States. The Supreme Court Ruling marked a massive change in access to abortion and reproductive rights across the nation. The lyrics reference elements of Greek mythology and Irish folklore along with references to contemporary issues that women face globally. His recognition of the oppression of women and the pressures of men to conform to toxic masculinity during such a sensitive time was well received across the internet.

In the fall of 2022, Hozier then teased a snippet of a soft acoustic ballad that seemingly references a long distance relationship. The song, which still does not have a title, has already served as a backdrop for countless viral videos on TikTok over the past few months. Many of the videos feature couples documenting their long distance relationships.

After months of speculation on when the mystery song will be released, Hozier posted a photo and captioned it “All Things End”, which appears to be the upcoming album’s title. The unreleased viral song remains unnamed, and the release date of the album remains a mystery. Even amid the mystery, fans were delighted to see Hozier return to releasing more new music, as this will be his first album since 2019’s Wasteland Baby!

Others made predictions about who potential collaborators on the album could be. One popular theory was the possibility of a Florence Welch feature. Welch currently leads indie rock band Florence and the Machine.
