Harry Styles Invites Young Fan On Stage To Recite The Opening Of “As It Was”

Grammy winning singer-songwriter Harry Styles has long been applauded for his humorous and kind gestures throughout his lengthy “Love On Tour” world tour. Last night in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, the singer invited a young fan to recite the opening voice note of his hit song “As It Was.” The singer then tore off a heart patch from his jacket and handed it to the fan. The wholesome concert moment is making the rounds online.

The intro to “As It Was” features a real voice mail from Styles’ goddaughter, saying “come on Harry, we want to say goodnight to you!” The sweet interaction is capturing the hearts of thousands of fans and onlookers around the world.

That fan is gonna remember this for the rest of their life.

The young fan was holding up a poster asking to recite the “As It Was” intro. Styles initially said that he would come back to her when the song came up in the setlist, and he appears to have kept his promise.

Some fans are hoping that it becomes a tour tradition to have a child in the audience recite the intro to “As It Was” live.

i feel like this needs to become a tradition where they get a kid at every show to do the intro !!

The Lengthy “Love On Tour”

The singer’s “Love On Tour”, which primarily supports his third solo album, “Harry’s House”, started in North America with a Madison Square Garden Residency. The singer most recently crossed over into the international leg of the massively successful world tour.

Styles’ stage presence and crowd interactions have received praise, in part for his humorous ritual of reading the most outrageous posters in the audience and in part for his continued support for the LGBTQ+ community. Before last night’s Amsterdam moment, a fan pointed out that this June marks the second consecutive Pride Month that Styles has toured through. He recently danced across the stage flying a gay pride flag in support of the community.

Styles’ repeat displays of kindness continue to captivate audiences, especially given that nothing in the world is as it was when his tour first began. This Pride Month carries extra weight for the LGBTQ+ community, after a wave of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation continues to pass across the U.S. “Love On Tour” hits Slane, Ireland next, where Inhaler, Wet Leg, and Mitch Rowland will additionally appear as supporting acts.
