Guy Fieri Joins Animal Crossing with FLAVORTOWN and Fans are REALLY Confused!
Restaurateur and flame enthusiast Guy Fieri announced that he set up his very own island in Animal Crossing, so you need to stop everything you are doing and listen to this one.
So basically, you need to stop EVERYTHING you are doing because the king of questionable hair has created his own beloved island on the new popular game, Animal Crossing New Horizons.
“I’m here on Flavortown Island checkin’ out a joint run by local legend, Tom Nook! Unlike the homes around here, you won’t have to take out a loan to afford these dishes,” Fieri wrote in a nod toward the Food Network show he hosts, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. And if you think we are joking about this… we aren’t.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons, one of the indisputable heroes of the coronavirus-induced quarantine, is the latest installment of the Nintendo game that dropped on March 20th. The game allows users to create their own island, get into stupid amounts of debt to the one and only Tom Nook who is CRUCIAL to your survival, and socialize in the time of social distancing. Who would have thought?
Now, users are scrambling to find a way to get Fieri to friend them on the game so they can score an invite to the one and only Flavortown island.
Naturally, with most people stuck at home, video gameplay is going through the roof, but Animal Crossing, at least judging by all the social media posts, seems especially popular. It makes sense if you think about it. A lot of games nowadays involve wandering around some post-apocalyptic wasteland shooting things and scavenging for supplies, which hits a little too close to home at the moment….
And while most people are using it as a way to not think about the current pandemic, there are plenty of people with a more morbid sense of humor, who couldn’t help but create some Animal Crossing memes worthy of these dark times, like this one making fun of the lack of toilet paper in the game.
Not all of us have Animal Crossing to help us get through these trying times, but even so, maybe we can learn something from the joy and creativity it inspires. It’s not always easy, but finding something that makes you happy, or at least distracts you, seems like a fine idea right now.
Okay back to Guy Fieri users are trying to get him to come to their islands even, but we will see just what America’s “favorite food uncle” will do. If you have a food truck, he may stop by… who knows.
