Ezra Miller Makes First Public Appearance In Nearly A Year For “The Flash” Premiere
Actor Ezra Miller just made their first public appearance in nearly a year at the Los Angeles premiere of “The Flash.” Miller faced numerous controversies in the past year, including allegations of grooming, assault, and more. Notably, Miller was arrested on felony burglary charges in Vermont and twice in Hawaii for disorderly conduct and assault. In the last year, Miller stated that they were “seeking treatment” for “complex mental health conditions.”

Miller’s appearance at “The Flash” premiere generated viral buzz surrounding the film, and further discourse on cancel culture. Recently, actor Jonathan Majors was dropped from several notable projects amid an alleged domestic assault on his girlfriend. Miller, who has been arrested several times, was still permitted to attend “The Flash” premiere and has not been dropped from any other projects at this time. Many resurfaced Miller’s mugshots from the 2022 incidents.

Miller posed for photos alongside the film’s director and their co-star Ben Affleck, and answered questions about their surprising appearance on the red carpet. The actor thanked Warner Bros, DC Executives, and director James Gunn for their “grace and discernment and care in bringing this moment to fruition.”
Social Media Response
Many “The Flash” fans continue to call for a boycott of the film. While the film currently sits at a solid 89% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes, some viewers feel that the production company will only truly feel the hit of platforming Miller if it flops at the box office.

1) WB’s racism/Ray Fisher
2) James Gunn’s tone
3) WB antagonising fans
4) WB lying to fans

The actor notably did not appear in interviews during the press run leading up to the film’s wide release. Some now joke that the actor absorbed their character’s powers and that the filmmakers did not want to have a villain running amok on their hands.

Director Andrés Muschietti confirmed that he would not recast the actor for a sequel. The director told the hosts of “The Discourse” podcast that he “doesn’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did.” “The Flash” hits theaters June 16.
