Euphoria Trends on Twitter as After Season 2 Premiere
In case you missed it, season 2 of Euphoria premiered last night on HBO. For those out of the loop, the popular television show follows the main character Rue, played by Zendaya, who is a drug addict exiting rehab. Not only does it follow Rue, but it also follows Rue’s circle as they navigate high school while struggling with identity, trauma, sex, drugs, and many more issues. Many loved the show as it was incredibly intense while showcasing more diverse characters than we have been used to in other high school dramas. And, since season 1 came out in 2019, it has been an incredibly long time since many have seen their favorite characters. With this eagerness to see what their favorite characters were up to, it soon began to trend on Twitter.
Zendaya’s warning
Yesterday, as fans anticipated the premiere of the second season, Zendaya tweeted a warning to her fans, reminding them of the heavy content in the show. She notes that “this season, maybe even more so than the last, is deeply emotional and deals with subject matter that can be triggering and difficult to watch.”

Even after Zendaya expressed her warning that the show is maybe even more intense than the former season, many responded by noting how excited they were still, noting they would be willing to wait to the wee hours of the night to watch the episode.

Twitter’s reaction
As such, many on Twitter began to live-tweet their reaction to the show, making it difficult for some to avoid spoilers. Many also discussed that though they were warned for a heavy season, there was a lot jammed in the very first episode of the season.

However, many seemed to be pleased, noting that it was well worth the over two and a half year wait. So, it looks like as Euphoria continues to premiere weekly on Sundays, we will just have to expect the television show to begin trending with spoilers.
