Dylan Mulvaney Talks Hate For Bud Light and Nike Campaign on Rosie O’ Donnell Podcast

TikToker Dylan Mulvaney is speaking out after receiving criticism for her partnership with major brands. And now Howard Stern is backing up the star.

After landing numerous partnerships with brands like Nike and Bud Light, transgender TikToker Dylan Mulvaney has come under fire from many conservatives. And on a podcast with Rosie O’ Donnell, the star is opening up.

Mulvaney has been a prominent social media sensation on platforms like TikTok. The star shared countless videos featuring her transition into girlhood over the course of a year and gained a large social media following as a result.

But after a few major endorsements, the social media sensation became bombarded with criticism.

The Brand Partnership

On April 1st, a campaign for Bud Light went live. Many online saw stars like Kid Rock furious with the partnership and others online started taking Bud Light off of their shelves. Shortly after, Mulvaney shared a partnership with Nike met with criticism as well.

Dylan is no stranger to backlash online for her identity in general, but in this case she remained quiet on the matter.

Nike actually put out a statement in response to the criticism for the partnership. The brand put out the message on April 6th stating “You are an essential component to the success of your community. We welcome comments that contribute to a positive and constructive discussion.” They also mentioned that any comments not in the spirit of a diverse and inclusive community would be deleted.

From there, Dylan actually shared a heartfelt message saying that she was trying to remain positive.

The April 8th post reads “It’s hard to see the light now, just don’t let it go. This song felt fitting for the week I’ve been having. All is well! Cheers.

Dylan Mulvaney Responds

After a few days of media swarm, the TikToker ended up on an episode of Onward with Rosie O’ Donnell to discuss the situation at hand.

The social media sensation said: “The reason I think I’m an easy target is because I’m still new to this. I think going after a trans woman who has been doing this for 20 years is a lot more difficult. Maybe they think there’s some sort of chance with me that they can—but I mean, what is their goal?”

And yes, transgender people have been a major target for quite some time.

Dylan Mulvaney attends the 65th GRAMMY Awards on February 05, 2023 in Los Angeles, California.

At this time, 31% of the LGBTQ population lives in states that have laws preventing transgender students from participating in sports consistent with their gender identity, 20 State law bans exist which stop transgender students from participating in sports consistent with their gender identity, and over 100 bills attacking transgender people have been introduced in state legislatures since 2020. It’s important to emphasize that many trans people and their freedoms have been a topic of conversation with lawmakers.

Howard Stern’s Comments

And now, Howard Stern has emphasized her point of view on the matter as well.

The radio host went on to say “I’m not bothered by gay people or transsexual people. They don’t impact my life, they don’t hurt my life. I love when people are in love. You wanna be a woman? Be a woman. You wanna be a dude, be a dude. Be whatever you f—ing want. As long as you ain’t hurting anybody, I’m on your team.”

Stern also went on to say that he wished Kid Rock and others should not be so upset about the situation.

He also added “I wish I could call Kid Rock and have him come on the show and just tell me ‘Why are you so upset about this? How is this hurtful?’ I don’t know why he got so upset.”

“Kid Rock, I know him. He’s got a great life. He transitioned from some kid in Michigan to a rock superstar! I’m really dumbfounded by why someone would care so much that they would blow up a can of Bud Light and say, ‘F— Anheuser-Busch.’ I don’t get it.”
