Debby Ryan’s iconic shy smile is back. This time, the American actress recreated her own meme on TikTok. This shy smile was first captured in Debby’s 2012 film Radio Rebel. In the film, Debby played the role of Tara Adams, a timid schoolgirl who secretly acted as the school’s mystery DJ. In one scene, Debby sweeps her hair to the side and smiles nervously. At the time, little did she know that this awkward smirk would become one of the most popular memes on the internet. Eight years after the film was first premiered, TikTok users are now taking this smirk to a new level.

While many celebrities get mad at people mocking their pasts, Debby enjoys  having fun with the crowd. On April 30th, she replied to the popular meme on Twitter and attached an awkward hair flipping GIF. She said, “I was serious about my craft from a young age and studied technique alongside Roxanne from A Goofy Movie.”

Many thought that would be the end of the story. However, Debby took her Radio Rebel meme to a completely new level. On Monday, August 4th, Debby posted a TikTok of her recreating different roles she has played in the past. The TikTok captioned “what I’d wear to fashion week in…” She started with a pastel purple pajama set. Then, she changed into a green blouse, a plaid skirt, and a pair of knee-high boots for the look of Jessie Scott in Jessie. Following up, she switched to a pair of orange-red shorts and a pink crop top to recreate the look of Bailey Pickett inThe Suite Life of Zack and Cody. This TikTok is only getting better when Debby shows up with a pink dress and a crown for Patricia “Patty” Bladell in Insatiable. The video ends with Debby’s iconic shy smile in Radio Rebel.

Debby Ryan’s TikTok went viral. Fans couldn’t even believe their eyes when they saw the nervous smirk. One said, “am I dreaming or did this actually happen?” Another agreed, “she really did the face.” In the last 20 hours, this TikTok has already received 9.6 million likes and 560,200 comments.
