Casey Anthony Documentary from Peacock Met with Backlash on Social Media

The notorious trial of Casey Anthony filled the media back in 2008. Since the ordeal, there have been numerous specials and hundreds of documentaries about Casey Anthony with everyone speaking out from prosecutors, the defense team, and even Anthony’s parents

But now, the 36 year old mother is telling her side of the story.

Giving an explosive interview on Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies, a three part series, Casey gives details that have never been revealed before.

In the newly released trailer from Peacock, viewers get a first hand look at why Anthony didn’t call authorities for nearly 31 days to report her daughter’s disappearance and why she lied to police in her testimonial.

The case that was one of the most notable trials in criminal history according to Nielson reached an estimated forty million Americans who watched some or even all of the trial. And the verdict was one that was seen by almost 100 million people worldwide

As many people know Anthony was found not guilty on all counts except for lying to law enforcement. In 2008, people were confused and angry though as 2-year-old Caylee were found six months later after her disappearance in a wooded area near the family home.

Throughout the trial and beyond, Anthony’s legal team claimed that Caylee had drowned in the family pool. In the new documentary, Anthony accuses her father George Anthony of staging Caylee’s death in an alleged effort to cover up claims of sexual abuse.

In this heart wrenching documentary, people get a first hand look at the family dynamic and reasoning why Casey would have lied to the police, but not everyone on social media is buying it.

Other users were more than upset when this announcement came from Peacock. After NBC made a special about the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case, some stated this was going too far.

Seriously, why is Casey Anthony still a thing? I cancelled Peacock the second I heard they were doing an interview with her. I don’t need news alerts about her, TMZ. Unless it’s good news like she’s in prison or dead then keep it to yourselves. She’s a baby murdering witch.

And people on TikTok were quick to point out that there was a lot of evidence against Casey Anthony and that no one would want to support this documentary.

One user stated that Anthony is most likely doing this for money and people still can’t get over her behavior when her daughter was missing.

And even back in 2021 a TikToker shared a video claiming that she worked at the same company Casey Anthony worked at, and all of the staff claimed she was a pathological liar.
