Due to its anthology set up, the popular show introduces new cast members every season. This season features a star studded cast, including Salma Hayek-Pinault, Ben Barnes, Josh Hartnett, Michael Cera, Rory Culkin, Himesh Patel, and more.

Reactions From Viewers
While fans are excited to see the show return, some are not loving the big budget makeover. The show began as a lower budget production with British television newcomers in starring roles. The show also oscillates between being a thriller, horror, and science-fiction, and the trailer hints that the show will dip primarily into horror this season.

Others argue that the realism of the show is what contributed to the overall eeriness, and that the big-name Hollywood revamp takes away from the show’s original point.

Meanwhile, some Twitter users are cracking jokes about how the reality of the past few years has been crazier than the show.

On the contrary, some were excited to see some of their favorite actors back on screen for the new season. Michael Cera was also recently announced to appear in Greta Gerwig’s much anticipated “Barbie” film.

The show’s creator, Charlie Brooker, reportedly departed the series due to intellectual property issues between his production company and Netflix. “Black Mirror” returns to Netflix in June.
