Hands of Poker

  • Royal Flush

Your hand must contain a 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of all the same suit. This is the best, and most rare Poker hand you could get.

  • Straight Flush

Your hand must contain five cards in numerical order, all in the same suit; for example; Four, Five, Six, Seven and Eight of Hearts.

  • Four of a Kind

Your hand must contain all four of the same value, one of each suit. For example; the Seven of Hearts, Seven of Diamonds, the Seven of Clubs and Seven of Spades.

  • Full House

Your hand must contain a pair as well as three of the same. For example, the Five of Hearts, Five of Diamonds, Five of Spades, Nine of Hearts and Nine of Clubs.

  • Flush

Your hand must contain five cards all from the same suit, but not be in numerical order. For example, a hand containing a Four, Six, Seven, Jack and Queen of Hearts.

  • Straight

Your hand must contain five cards in numerical order, but not all of the same suit. For example, Six of Clubs, Seven of Diamonds, Eight of Diamonds, Nine of Hearts, Ten of Spades.

  • Three of a Kind

Your hand must contain three cards of the same value and two cards that are not paired. For example, the King of Hearts, King of Spades, King of Clubs, Seven of Spades, and Three of Diamonds.

  • Two Pairs

Your hand must contain two sets of pairs. For example, Five of Hearts and Five of Diamonds, Three of Clubs and Three of Hearts.

  • One Pair

Your hand must contain at least one pair. For example, Five of Clubs and Five of Diamonds.

  • High Card

If your hand contains none of the above, you can play your highest valued card in your hand. This is what is referred to as a High Card. This is the least desirable outcome of a game of Poker, and we recommend folding to cut your losses early on if it doesn’t look as though you’ll able to create a better valued Poker hand.

Now that your Poker hand knowledge has been refreshed, the only thing left to do is to put what you have learnt into practice and perfect your Poker face. You could do this with friends with a deck of cards, online within any demo games, as well as placing your bets on real-money games, or you could head down to your local casino venue and watch a game of Poker or two taking place, before deciding to pull up a chair and join.

Are you ready to adorn your Poker face and see if Lady Luck deals you a Royal hand?
