Janelle Monae Releases Poppy Ode to the Vagina With “PYNK”

After years of being an ArchAndroid, it looks like Janelle Monae is embracing the more Prince inspired sexual aspect of her music — with some help from romantic interest (so far just on video) of Tessa Thompson. First, there was “You Make Me Feel,” a bisexual anthem where Janelle Monae was torn between a hunky guy and Tessa Thompson (and given one of those people was Tessa Thompson, the hunky guy never really stood a chance). Now comes “PYNK,” Janelle Monae’s ode to the vagina, with lyrics such as — Pink like the inside of your, baby / Pink behind all of the doors, crazy / Pink like the tongue that goes down, maybe / Pink like the paradise found / Pink when you’re blushing inside, baby / Pink is the truth you can’t hide, maybe / Pink like the folds of your brain, crazy / Pink as we all go insane Yup — there’s no mistaking what that one’s about!
