Proof That ‘The Good Place’ and ‘Parks and Rec’ Take Place in Same Universe

  •  Get the fork outta here with that! Haha, right? That’s what every entry about The Good Place has to say at some point, right? Well, I got it out of the way folks, for something much more important. Everyone, melt all of your Marvel figurines into a little ball and throw it out into the alley, because there’s a much more important shared universe coming your way — or should I say… Schured Universe? Hey, maybe I should! I am referring of course to the possibility that the television shows of Mike Schur — creator of Parks and Recreation, The Good Place, Brooklyn 99 and a key producer on that aughts NBC classic The Office. Twitter user Darran Stobbard found evidence of this connection in the backpages of Kristen Bell’s character Eleanor Shellstrop favorite magazine — Celebrity Baby Plastic Surgery Disasters.  One is an ad for “Glyde: Eau de Toilette,” which is a new cologne created by Dennis Feinstein, and another is a Champagne called Brut, with the tagline: “Turn That Frizown Upsidzity.” And, that Champagne was created by Jean Ralphio — Ben Schwartz’s character from Parks and Recreation. Dennis Feinstein was, of course, played by Jason Manzoukas, and was a dirtbag cologne and perfume maker who Aziz Ansari’s Tom Haverford tried to woo. This is all very exciting, and most exciting of all…  Heaven and Hell exist in the Parks and Recreation universe.  That’s right folks, Tom Haverford, Ron Swanson, April Ludgate, Andy Dwyer — all going to Hell? Leslie Knope and Ann? Probably Heaven. But, the rest of them? Hell.  What do you think of the Schured Universe? Are Scully and Hitchcock from Brooklyn 99 also going to Hell?
