Netflix Mocks Its Viewers in Tweet
Netflix recently released their 2017 Year in Review, aka — a Year in Bingeing — and it revealed a lot of odd viewing habits to say the least.
The report details “the shows we devoured,” “the shows we savored,” “the shows that got us cheating,” and “the shows that brought us together.” As you can imagine, shows like American Vandal, 13 Reasons Why, Stranger Things, and many, many more made the cut. What has many talking, however, are the “binge facts” from 2017. Did you know the biggest streaming day of the year was January 1st? More importantly, did you know that someone watched Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 365 days in a row?! That, my friends, is some dedication. While these binge facts seem cool and all, many on Twitter feel a little creeped out. But, why? The same day Netflix released their Year in Review, they tweeted this: “To the 53 people who’ve watched A Christmas Prince every day for the past 18 days: Who hurt you?”

I’m not going to lie — myself, and many others, thought Netflix’s concern was funny — except the “Big Brother is watching you” part.

Now, I can’t help but wonder what A Christmas Prince is about and why 53 people are binge-watching it! Turns out A Christmas Prince is Netflix’s first original holiday movie. And, yes. It’s basically a cheesy, holiday Hallmark movie. The plot follows Amber — played by Rose McIver — a reporter who is asked to cover an upcoming coronation for a “womanizing” prince. One thing leads to another, and — you guessed it. They fall in love. Or, at least, I think they do. I’ll make sure to watch it and report back. Anyways — let’s get back to Netflix basically watching our every bingeing move. Does it creep you out? Let us know what you think in the comments below or at @WhatsTrending on Twitter.
