Cartoonist Imagines Classic Trump Quotes as Classic Comics
Source: 78.media.tumblr.com
R. Sikoryak is an incredible cartoonist who has made a career with his incredible ability to adapt often complex or adult material in the style of a variety of comics. His first graphic novel “Masterpiece Comics” adapted classic novels in the styles of Beavis and Butthead (Waiting for Godot), Superman (Camus’ The Stranger) and Little Lulu (The Scarlet Letter). Recently he’s adapted the iTunes terms and conditions in the styles of a variety of cartoonists, and now he’s back with something a little more topical and a lot more dangerous than even Beavis and Butthead (!!!) — Donald Trump in a new book which you can buy here. Sikoryak has created a Tumblr called “The Unquotable Trump” — inspired by The Incredible Hulk — that shows Trump quotes in the context of classic comics. For example, Trump calling Hillary “such a nasty woman” is showcased as him being thrown off a wall by Wonder Woman (itself, a direct parody of Wonder Woman #2 from 1942), Trump talking about his electoral vote victory is parodied as the cover of the first issue of Frank Miller’s original 300, while a parody of Pinky and the Brain adapts a quote, appropriately enough, about the president saying he has a very good brain. The parodies are incredible, and we’ve included a few of our favorites with the original covers so we can see just how great these parodies are.
