Candy Corn: Hero or Villain?

  • As the Halloween season kicks into full gear, people across the internet are warning others of an ancient evil that appears in our world every October: the dreaded scourge of candy corn. Candy corn. Corn that tastes like candy… Candy corn’s unique shape and color make it almost synonymous with Halloween. There are candy corn costumes, decorations, and more! But.. does anyone like candy corn?

  • But, for the record, candy corn is the shed baby teeth of tiny toddler demons. There’s no doubt that candy corn is a polarizing topic for candy lovers, but there are small pockets of candy corn lovers across the country. In a 2016 poll, Oregon, Wyoming, Tennessee, Texas and South Carolina all voted candy corn as their state’s favorite Halloween candy. The people of South Carolina found this news surprising and offensive. Cole replies, “this is blasphemy. No one in South Carolina likes candy corn.” Jack tweets, “I’m from South Carolina and I don’t eat no damn candy corn. That’s blasphemous.”
