The Pause Pod is a product aimed at bringing some privacy to every day life, but the one-person tent is getting roasted online. The internet is the home for stupid inventions, but sometimes, they go beyond stupid. The Pause Pod was developed thanks to funding from a successful KickStarter. Now, you can purchase your own Pause Pod through IndieGoGo for about a hundred bucks. The Pause Pod pops up in seconds, and offers you a quiet, dark place to sit, meditate or nap! I guess the Pause Pod is great if your office doesn’t have a bathroom or an exit. The Pause Pod also has an extendable pouch so you can lie down. Great! I can finally get some privacy in my own bedroom! There’s even tablet holder so you don’t have to be bored during your cry for help. Okay, I’m kidding. For a one-person tent, the Pause Pod seems kind of cool! Out in nature, it makes a great instant shelter that’s easy to carry. But, using it inside? I understand wanting to have some privacy at work, but… how much privacy can you get when you’re inside a small tent in the middle of a room? I guess a nylon tent is much cheaper than cubicles. Like so many useless inventions before it, the Pause Pod is getting roasted on social media.
