So Much SHADE Was Thrown at The VMAs
The VMAs are one of the most scandalous award shows of all time. If it’s history of jaw-dropping moments like Miley and the foam finger, the Britney and Madonna kiss or Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift don’t convince you, maybe the controversial moments at tonights show will. The show was hosted by one of Taylor Swift’s greatest enemies, Katy Perry. On Friday, Swift dropped her first song off her new album “Reputation”. “Look What You Made Me Do” is a revenge track but the greatest revenge from it premiered at tonights show in the form of a music video… fitting. The video was full of zombies, Kimye references, Katy Perry references and of course, the old Taylor. Who by the way is dead. Twitter of course had a few things to say about the video:

While the pettiness was pretty evident throughout her entire video, it wasn’t the only insane thing to happen at the show. Fifth Harmony performed for the first time and the girl band used the VMA stage to address Camilla Cabello leaving the group. The diss was legendary:

One Twitter user brilliantly laid out the entire thing for us in a thread:

While shade was thrown, it wouldn’t be the VMAs without having uplifting moments to level out the insanity. When P!ink accepted the MTV Video Vanguard Award, she used the time to uplift her daughter, Willow who recently told her mom she is “ugly” and looks “like a boy.” The incredibly talented artist went on to tell her daughter to never change despite what others may think. “We don’t change,” she said. “We take the gravel and a shell, and we make a pearl.” What do you guys think about the drama that played out tonight?
