  • Netflix has been responsible for a surprising amount of returns in entertainment during its life — from Gilmore Girls to Full House to bringing back Dave Chapelle after his long break from doing comedy on television — and now they’re back with one of their most surprising returns — David Letterman is returning to the airwaves! For those of us who are a little too young to remember Letterman, he was the king of late night back in the day after hosting Late Night on NBC and then ultimately The Late Show on CBS where he retired in 2015 where the time slot got taken over by Stephen Colbert.  The show is said to be a combination of interviews and field pieces, and Letterman’s classic field pieces were some weird comedy for the ages. Here’s one of him trying to buy hot dogs from one of the top stories of his studio.

  •  Letterman released a statement in Netflix’s press release, saying — “I feel excited and lucky to be working on this project for Netflix. Here’s what I have learned, if you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first. Thanks for watching, drive safely.”  Still got it!  Are you excited to see Letterman return? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter at @WhatsTrending
