RIP Don Rickles

Don Rickles was a legend of comedy, of the old world of entertainment, and a model for so many with his groundbreaking moves in the art of insult comedy. He passed away April 6th, 2017 at the age of 90 of kidney failure. Don Rickles is remembered for both his ribald humor and his cruel but loving one liners. Don Rickles’ legacy spans from The Tonight Show in the 1960’s, to Vegas to Pixar, where he voiced Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story trilogy. YouTube is awash in examples of the comedians’ work where he doesn’t hold back against the likes of Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra, Clint Eastwood and so many more. Here is a video of him roasting Ronald Reagan at his inauguration, brilliantly, covering the subjects sitting in the theater with a precision and quickness that many have yet to be able to mimic. A master of the form.
