Transgender Teen Jazz Jennings Gets Own Doll

  •  When Jazz Jennings was six years old, she appeared on 20/20 with Barbara Walters. Since then, talk of the current 16-year-old’s transition has been highly publicized. Being one of the youngest people to be documented as transgender, Jazz has garnered an immense following next to her long list of accomplishments.  From starring in an award winning docu-series, writing a book, and walking the runway, Jazz has made great use of her platform as a transgender teen. So much so, that Robert Tonner, the owner of the Tonner Doll Company is releasing a Jazz Jennings doll that Robert personally designed and sculpted himself.

  •  Like the photo on the cover of Jenning’s memoir, Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender) Teen, the doll will come with a pink shirt and jean shorts.The company has also created a red-carpet ready look for the doll in a sparkling white ballerina dress.  According to CNN, owner Robert Tonner writes, “Jazz stands for everything I respect from a human nature point of view. She’s incredibly brave, intelligent, warmhearted and creative.”  Posting a photo of the doll on her Instagram page, Jazz wrote:
