Spurs Mascot Parodies Mariah’s Disastrous New Year’s Eve Performance
Talk about a tribute! During the halftime show in a game against Toronto Raptors, the San Antonio Spurs parodied Mariah Carey’s recent New Year’s Eve performance. The performance, in which the pop star was visibly flustered due to malfunctioning tech, was highly publicized due to its botched nature, and due to allegations that sabotage may have played a part. In a performance parodying the cringe-worthy event, the team mascot, the Spurs Coyote, channelled Mariah by wearing white swimwear-like bodysuit. The mascot acted confused by tapping into the microphone just as the music cut out, followed by a cut to a snippet of Mariah’s performance. Then, the mascot was seen storming off the stage indignantly. Aww, the poor coyote. What can we say? Performing in front of an audience is always hard. But you know what they say. The show must go on. Or as Ms. Carey would put it–
