  •  Representation matters. Whether it’s female Ghostbusters, African American Spider-Men or gay characters in Harry Potter, it’s important that people see themselves represented on the big screen, and audience members see these people represented in society. The creators of  Star Wars: Rogue One recognized this, as the film is populated with a diverse crew with characters who are Asian, Middle Eastern and with a female protagonist.  One of those actors is Diego Luna. Diego Luna was born in Mexico City, Mexico and plays Cassian Andor in Star Wars: Rogue One. He also, very importantly, kept his Mexican accent when playing the role.  This touched the heart of a fan of the film, username riveralwaysknew, as his Mexican father was touched by the inclusion. When he heard the film was incredibly successful, this touched his heart all the further.  Representation does matter. And if it can make one person feel included in the world, then it is worth it all the more.  What do you think? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter at @WhatsTrending.
