Metallica, The Roots Play “Enter Sandman” on Classroom Instruments

Jimmy Fallon has convinced some pretty big stars to play rearranged versions of their songs on so-called “classroom instruments” — i.e., cute little instruments you might find in a fourth grade music classroom. He did it with Adele last year, and he’s also memorably done it with The Lonely Island. The latest installment features a band with a sound that couldn’t be any further from the classroom instruments style: good ol’ Kill ‘Em All, Ride the Lightning, Metallica. How things have changed. Jimmy and the Roots teamed up with Metallica on a show earlier this week to do a classroom instruments remix of their biggest hit, “Enter Sandman.” Here’s the original video:

Comments are pretty split on this one. Plenty of people find it cute, and think Metallica goofing around on classroom instruments is just good clean fun. Others in the comments are whining about this not being “metal.” But may I remind you, not caring is the most metal thing of all:
