Vox: Here’s What the Rest of Your Election Ballot Is For

  •  We’ve written a lot about the epic (rap) battle between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Like, maybe too much. Now it’s time to talk about the rest of the ballot. You’ve probably heard the phrase “vote down the ballot.” For those wondering what that is, Vox is here to explain.  In every state, there is something more to vote for. That might mean Congress — you don’t want someone who dabs at debates in there, do you? — or it might mean your state’s legislature(s). There could even be some individual measures being weighed. In Massachusetts and California, for example, voters are being asked to vote on health care and the legalization of marijuana.  Congress has a huge impact on the way the country works. So even if you hate both candidates, voting on who your state sends to the House and Senate can still make up for it. There’s a chance that the Democrats can take both houses of Congress back. So for those in need of further motivation to vote — in either direction — there it is.  What do you think? Are you going to vote down the ballot?
