Watch Kanye and Friends Cry in the New “Wolves” Video

Kanye released a new music video, and this time it might not start a massive celebrity war! Unlike his previous video, for “Famous,” this one doesn’t feature a naked wax sculpture of anyone, let alone Taylor Swift. Instead, the black-and-white video — which isn’t Tidal exclusive, so people will actually watch it — is all about celebrities crying. The song, which appears in a much different form than it did on Kanye’s most recent album The Life of Pablo, is all about the trappings of fame and people who “prey” on celebrities. In my opinion, it’s one of the best songs on the album — dumb sandwich line notwithstanding. Notably, the version of the song that appears in the video features contributions from Vic Mensa and Sia, neither of whom appear on the album cut. Left out of both the video and new mix of the song is Frank Ocean, whose verse on the album sounded like it was tracked on a tape recorder, played back over the phone, and then piped through tin cans for good measure. The internet responded quickly to this omission, with this meme quickly reaching the top of the Reddit thread about the video:
This is of course a reference to Frank Ocean’s long-anticipated followup to 2012’s Channel Orange, which was rumored to be coming out in July 2016 but has not yet released as of the 29th. You only have two more days, Frank! Help us out! What do you think? Did you like the “Wolves” video or not? Let us know in the comments below or @WhatsTrending on Twitter!
