Twee Bees Help Tea Trees in the Grand Beedapest Hotel
Do you have a very special bee in your life who loves sweaters, horn-rimmed glasses, and reading books by sad dead people? Good news: there’s now a bee hotel in jolly old London modeled after Wes Anderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel. Wes Anderson (who would make a perfect director for X-Men) doesn’t have any connection to the bee hotel, and the hotel’s website doesn’t explicitly mention either him or the movie Grand Budapest Hotel. But one quick look at the hotel makes it obvious what they’re going for. There’s also the “grand tour” video that introduces the hotel as “The Grand Beedapest Hotel.” Check it:

The hotel was built to raise awareness for the plight of bees. According to the website, the population of British honeybees has halved in the last 25 years, due in large part to man-made pollution and habitat changes. The project is sponsored by British tea company Taylors of Harrogate, which lists a variety of ways you can help bees on the same site, including growing bee-friendly plants, supporting the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, and building your own bee hotel. What do you think? Would you let your pet bee stay at the Grand Beedapest Hotel, or are you two too attached? Let us know in the comments below or @WhatsTrending on Twitter!
