This Robot Dog Just Wants to Be Loved (And Overthrow Humanity)!

Last week, Boston Dynamics (AKA the terrifying geniuses behind this walking battle-droid) announced their latest robot, and it’s cute! Too cute. As in, they built this so the robots could get into our good graces, get invited into our homes, and then kill us in our sleep. Here’s the original video:

It walks around, navigates obstacles, grabs stuff with its creepy arm-head, and survives a banana peel-induced near-disaster. Oh yeah, and it almost mauls a guy while bringing him a drink. Our host Jarrett Sleeper doesn’t trust this thing, and neither do I. The SpotMini weighs 55 pounds and can run for about 90 minutes on a single charge… as of now. But who knows what’s next? Stick one of those nuclear fuel cells from Terminator into this bad boy, give it access to Google, and BOOM! Skynet has its first foot soldiers. And we’re too overcome by their cuteness to see the takeover coming. What do you think?
