High Schooler Knocks Graduation Version of “7 Years” Out of the Park
There’s pipes, and then there’s PIPES, and this kid’s got the latter. JP Wallace, a recent grad of Lapeer High School, sang a reworked version of Lukas Graham’s “7 Years” at the school’s graduation ceremony at Oakland University. This makes him the best teenage singer we’ve seen in, well, two weeks. Check out the full video here:

Chills. Lapeer seniors have, in fact, made their parents proud, and do deserve caps and gowns. Okay, maybe the lyrics are a bit corny, but young JP Wallace has himself a gift. Here’s hoping Lukas Graham’s 200 million plus YouTube views for the song rub off on him. In case you’re an out-of-touch fogey like me and haven’t heard the original song, here’s the video:

Man, I really missed out on this one. What a catchy little tune. Lukas Graham has yet to respond to JP’s amazing cover, but I’m sure if enough people tweet it to him, he will. What do you think? Is this cover badass, or do the corny lyrics hold it back? Let us know in the comments below or @WhatsTrending on Twitter!
