Christina Grimmie’s Manager Set Up a GoFundMe For Her Family
Christina Grimmie’s fans gave an outpouring of kindness and support after her manager Brian Teefey, the stepfather of Christina’s friend Selena Gomez, set up a GoFundMe campaign to help her family. The “Voice” star and talented YouTube musician was killed by a gunman while she was signing autographs after her show in Orlando on Friday. She was 22. “Words cannot begin to describe the pain I am feeling,” Teefey said. “I learned this business through the eyes of a father and Christina was like a second daughter to me. All I wanted to do was assist her in achieving her musical dreams while protecting her from the pitfalls associated with the business. I never could have imagined this horrific event being one of the pitfalls needing to be avoided.” He set up the campaign with a goal of $4,000 to support her mother, father and brother as they go through this painful time together. “They did nothing but love her and support her as [a] family the best they knew how, the only worry I want them to have at this point is that of recovery,” he wrote. “Grimms I love you, and miss you beyond comprehension.” Fans and supporters have responded with overwhelming generosity. More than 4,000 people have contributed so far, clearing $100,000 in one day. “You have made the world a much better place, Christina,” wrote donor Crystal Espiritu. “We’re grateful to have had you in our lives — no matter how short. … Once a Team Grimmie, always a Team Grimmie.” Consider donating if you can, or share the GoFundMe page to spread the word.
