Christina Grimmie Dead After Shooting In Orlando

• YouTuber and The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie was shot and killed Friday night following a performance at the Plaza Live Theatre in Orlando. She was 22. According to multiple news outlets, Grimmie was shot while signing autographs outside the theatre along with the band Before You Exit. The assailant died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after Grimmie’s brother tackled him.

• Grimmie started performing on YouTube in 2009, posting covers of songs by Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and others. She came in third place on Season 6 of The Voice and continued to post hugely popular covers and originals to YouTube. Grimmie’s final tweet encouraged fans to come see her perform in Orlando.
