Twitter Laughs, Rages As Clinton Tells Trump: Delete Your Account

  • Hillary “Hilldawg” Clinton is no stranger to controversy. Whether she can unite the Democratic Party in the wake of her gathering enough delegates for the nomination remains to be seen — if there’s anything the #GirlIGuessImWithHer hashtag demonstrated, it’s that the young folks who supported Bernie Sanders are less than eager to unify behind Clinton. So what does Clinton do to change their hearts and minds? Tweet a Tumblr meme at Donald Trump. The “delete your account” meme is a familiar one to any person who’s spent too much time on Tumblr, Twitter, or any other unforgiving web community. For the rest of us: it’s a way of telling someone who’s made an embarrassing, stupid, or otherwise pointless post on a public forum that their post is bad and they should feel bad. It’s often ironically shared among friends, but just as often directed at strangers. This, however, is definitely the first time it’s been aimed at a Presidential candidate by another Presidential candidate. Here’s the original Twitter conversation between Trump and Clinton, including Trump’s comeback:
